Impact Stories: Furaha
When Furaha’s father abandoned her family in 2013, they had no means to support themselves. The young girl’s mother took on cleaning jobs for 2,000 Congolese francs (roughly $1). Furaha and her eight siblings endured hard times as the family scraped and saved for food and rent.
In 2016, a friend encouraged Furaha to go to Africa New Day, where she discovered Generation Hope. With mentorship and training, Furaha started seeing challenges as opportunities to become a source of inspiration to others. Today she is a leader, focused on a brighter future for her family and community.
“I stayed focused on my mission, my brighter future and that of my community and thanks to the leadership and entrepreneurship training that I have followed at UJN.”
It cost us just $233 to create a leader like Furaha.
